Below are new regulations to apply for a Chinese Visa for applicants under age of 18.
Minors under the age of 18 (minors above the age of 16 who have their own income and are economically independent are not included) applying for a Chinese visa need to provide the following documents. Documents has to be provided in original and photocopy:
A) Minors applying for a Chinese visa at the same time of both parents, is required to provide:
– legalized birth certificate (the certificate needs to indicate both parents’ names).
B) Minors applying for a Chinese visa together with only one parent, is required to provide:
– legalized birth certificate (the certificate needs to indicate both parents’ names).
– notarized and legalized letter of authorization for minor’s visa application from the parent who does not apply for the visa.
– notarized and legalized letter of authorization from the parent who does not apply for the visa, declaring that he /she consents the other parent to travel with the minor.
C) Minors applying for a Chinese visa alone:
– legalized birth certificate (the certificate needs to indicate both parents’ names).
– notarized and legalized letter of authorization for minor’s visa application from both parents.
– notarized and legalized letter of authorization from both parents consenting an authorised person to travel with the minor.
The notarized and legalized letter of authorization for minor’s visa application from both parents must include personal data of the applicant.
The notarized and legalized letter of authorization from both parents consenting an authorised person to travel with the minor must include personal data of the applicant as well. It is necessary to specify the relationship between the minor and the authorised person and to attach a copy of the authorised person’s document.
